WWE Smackdown Report For June 7th, 2024: WWE Champion Cody Rhodes To Defend The WWE Championship Against AJ Styles In An I Quit Match At Clash At The Castle, The Bloodline Continue To Wreak Havoc.

Solo Sikoa, Tama Tonga, Tonga Loa, And Paul Heyman (The Bloodline) Segment: The Bloodline opened up the show this week. Paul Heyman said that while Roman Reigns is gone, and until he comes back, Solo Sikoa is the Head Of The Table and leader of the Bloodline. And because Sikoa has these privileges, that means he can make people full blown members of the faction. Heyman said that Tama Tonga will now be known as Tama Tonga, Right Hand Man. Then Heyman said that Tonga Loa will now be known as the Infamous Tonga Loa. Heyman was ready to leave the ring when Sikoa stopped him and asked him if he was forgetting something, to which Heyman couldn’t figure out exactly what Solo wanted him to say. Sikoa then told Heyman to thank both Tama Tonga and Tonga Loa for saving him from Kevin Owens last week, and Heyman did just that. After, Heyman told Solo that Kevin Owens has been looking for the Bloodline today and is ready to fight any one of them. All of a sudden Kevin Owens came down to the ring for a fight, however he was outnumbered. The Street Profits then came out to even the odds, setting up for a six man tag team match (Owens and Profits Vs Bloodline) for the main event.

Apollo Crews Backstage Segment: We had Apollo Crews being interviewed about his upcoming match against Angel, when Legado Del Fantasma attacked him and left him laying. The match was later called off by Smackdown General Manager Nick Aldis.

Bianca Belair And Jade Cargill (WWE Women’s Tag Team Champions) Versus Candice Larae And Indi Hartwell: This was a rematch from King and Queen of the Ring. Alba Fyre, Isla Dawn, Shayna Baszler, and Zoey Stark made their way to the ring to watch what was happening. Hartwell and LeRae defeated Belair with strong tag team maneuvers, while Hartwell dismissed Cargill with her own pose. When Cargill was tagged, she destroyed Hartwell and LeRae. Cargill and Belair finished the non-title match with their tag team finish to win. Following the match, Fyre, Dawn, Baszler, and Stark ambushed the WWE Women’s Tag Team Champions, but Belair and Cargill repelled their assault.

WINNERS: BIANCA BELAIR AND JADE CARGILL (WWE WOMEN’S TAG TEAM CHAMPIONS)

Grayson Waller (WWE Tag Team Champion) Versus Johnny Gargano: Following Austin Theory’s fight with Tommaso Ciampa last week, WWE Tag Team Champion Grayson Waller faced Johnny Gargano. In an exciting back-and-forth match, Gargano hit a massive alteration of a Canadian Destroyer. While Waller took a break outside, he used Theory as his barrier as Gargano soared over the top rope. Gargano was preoccupied so Waller took advantage and hit his flying Unprettier to win the match.

WINNER: GRAYSON WALLER (WWE TAG TEAM CHAMPION)

Bianca Belair And Jade Cargill (WWE Women’s Tag Team Champions) Backstage Segment: It was announced by the champs themselves that at COTC it will be Belair and Cargill vs Alba and Isla vs Shayna and Zoey in a triple threat tag team WWE Women’s Tag Team Championship match.

Cody Rhodes (WWE Champion) And AJ Styles Segment: Cody Rhodes was on the warpath after what AJ Styles did to him last week. Rhodes was waiting on Styles in the parking lot all night, and when Styles, did finally show up to the arena, their was a barrier of security between the two combatants. Rhodes then made his way to the ring and demanded that Styles make his way down the isle. Once again however, the security stopped a fight. Styles then took a microphone and said that he wants a WWE Championship match at COTC. Rhodes said that he’s got his match, but it’s not going to be any ordinary match, instead the title match between the two will be an I Quit Match.

LA Knight Versus Carmelo Hayes: LA Knight faced Carmelo Hayes for the first time in singles competition after exchanging verbal blows backstage in consecutive weeks. Hayes had Knight scouted for the majority of the match, but turned to holding Knight’s tights in an attempt for a sneaky triumph. Knight, on the other hand, converted Hayes’ pinfall attempt into his own, surprising him and winning.

WINNER: LA KNIGHT

Nia Jax (QOTR) And Mia Yim Brawl Backstage: This was I think to set up a match next week on Smackdown.

Logan Paul (United States Champion) Video Vignette: We had Logan Paul talk about how much bigger a star and main eventer he is when compared to LA Knight. Paul then rejected Knight’s challenge for a United States Championship match, and called him a midcarder, which is ironic since currently holds the United States Championship, which is the midcard title of the Smackdown brand.

Bayley (WWE Women’s Champion) Piper Niven, And Chelsea Green Segment: Bayley was in the ring and addressed the attack by Piper Niven last week on Smackdown. Bayley said that she respects all that Niven has done, but at Clash at the Castle, She will overcome Niven in Niven’s home country of Scotland and retain the WWE Women’s title. Niven then said that if Bayley knew anything about her, she would not underestimate her, and at COTC, Niven will defeat Bayley, and become the new WWE Women’s Champion.

The Bloodline Versus Kevin Owens And The Street Profits: Solo Sikoa, Tama Tonga, and Tonga Loa formed a unified Bloodline for the first time, following Loa’s anointing ceremony earlier in the evening, which was ruined by Kevin Owens and The Street Profits. KO landed a massive Swanton Bomb on Sikoa, but he only got a two-count. Just as Owens landed the Stunner on Sikoa, the rest of The Bloodline ripped him out of the ring, and everything collapsed until Montez Ford flew from the sky. Sikoa then attacked with a steel chair, resulting in disqualification.
